It’s the first of February today and I almost can’t believe how fast the last month has gone despite all the restraints that are placed upon us. The truth is between seeing patients, marking papers for homeopathy degree students and home-schooling, time is flying!
So, how are you? How is your health? I hope that you are all finding a positive way through this time. The winter months can be challenging for lots of different reasons, but hopefully the extra minutes of light each day are providing you some positive signs that Spring is on it’s way, and bring with it hope that we can turn a corner soon.
For me, January was a busy month of seeing people for homeopathic treatment. I have been amazed and delighted how people have embraced seeing me via Zoom. It has truly proved to be a fantastic way for people to still receive much needed treatment throughout lock down. My initial worries that people may find it difficult or impersonal have been proved wrong, and my lovely clients seem comfortable and happy to see me this way.
January was also a first for me, in that I did my first live Instagram interview with the lovely Charley Allsopp of the Garden Retreat ( #thegardenretreat_ ) in Market Harborough. Charley is a real positive force of nature who runs a busy clinic in town. Owing to lock down, she is putting all her energy into keeping in touch with people and supporting business owners who she knows and trusts. I was thrilled when she asked me to take part and if you are interested, click here or on the image for the full interview on Instagram… as you will see it went a bit fuzzy in places, but the chat is clear and it would be great if you can share this with anyone who might be interested or in need of some homeopathy to help their improve their health.
Things that Have Made Me Happy During January
I am taking more time this year to find the things that really make me feel good and happy. Some of the following things that have worked so far:
At the start of January I took up an annual subscription with this Meditation App. Since then I have made time to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes a day to do a guided meditation using the App.
Today, I have completed the Happiness Course and can honestly say that I feel it has helped me enormously find balance, and be more positive with my family and the situation we find ourselves in.

Slowing Down and Having Fun in the Snow....
Part of finding happiness is allowing myself to be a kid sometimes. So when a blanket of snow landed in Market Harborough, I downed my homeopathy books and joined the kids in the garden for a good old-fashioned snowball fight!
Even our dog Ruby joined in although rather than dodge the snowballs, she was intent on trying to eat them!
Choosing Alcohol Free, Vegan, Cruelty Free and 100% Recyclable Packaging...
Sounds good right? If you are anything like me, you may have found that as you get older, your old favourite tipples no longer agree with you as much. For me, if I go near a glass of wine now, it affects my sleep quality, how hot I am during the night, not to mention my moods!
Having done a bit of digging around, I found a company called Three Spirit, which offers plant-based alcohol free drinks for every occasion. They call it Botanical Alchemy and so far I think it tastes pretty good without any of the negative side affects for me.

Other things that have made me happy this month: Enola Holmes: My new found love during lock-down is unashamedly Netflix. I snuggled down with my family recently to watch the utterly brilliant Enola Holmes. You're Not Listening: What You are Missing and Why It Matters by Kate Murphy: Being a homeopath means that I am privileged that people share their stories with me and I am acutely aware how important it is that I really hear what people are saying, in a way that is completely non-judgemental. So much of the way we live our lives is about people shaping their narrative through social media posts or talking over each other as we rush through life, which means that we are no longer really listening, and others are not listening to us. This is great book, very thought provoking and useful.
Taking time to think about you
If you feel that you would like homeopathic treatment, I am still here and working as before just simply on-line rather than in person, so do get in touch or click here to book in. If you know anyone who would benefit from homeopathic treatment, please do share this Blog as referrals are always welcomed.
Remember, if you do book an appointment, ensure that you find yourself a private space where you feel you can talk openly and freely, without distraction, so that we use your time fully on focusing on you. It can seem indulgent and we can often feel that we are not allowed to take time to focus on ourselves, but it is the most important thing you can do to look after your own health and well-being. This ultimately will help the well-being of people around you too.
Thank you for taking the time to ready my Blog.
Do feel free to get in touch if there is anything you would like more information on,
otherwise keep well until next time, and remember
to find a little bit of happiness for you each day.
